It's relatively easy to compile a list of foundations that might have an interest in supporting your nonprofit. It takes a little more effort to evaluate those prospective funders to create a high-priority list of those most likely to support you. Such an evaluation will include examining who the foundation already supports, the focus of its funding, the size of its grants, and -- last but not least -- what personal connections you can discover between the foundation and your organization.
